About toools.app

Small tools, thoughtfully made

toools.app is a growing collection of focused online utilities for writing, editing, formatting, organising and understanding text. Each tool is designed to do one job well, without making you create an account, navigate a complicated dashboard or send your work somewhere else.

Simple by design

Many everyday computer tasks are tiny but surprisingly awkward. You may need to count the words in a draft, put a list into alphabetical order, remove duplicate lines, turn a title into the right case or prepare a value for use in a URL. None of those jobs should require a heavyweight application. They should take a few seconds: open a tool, paste or type your content, get the result and move on.

That is the idea behind toools.app. The interface stays deliberately quiet so that the content you are working with remains the focus. Controls are labelled clearly, results appear quickly and useful actions such as copying are close at hand. The tools share a consistent structure, so once you have used one, the next should feel familiar. We aim for software that explains itself instead of asking you to learn a new workflow.

Count and understand your writing

Our counting and analysis tools help you see the shape of a piece of text. The word, character and sentence counters provide quick totals for drafts, forms, essays and messages. Dedicated character counters make it easier to check content against common limits for social platforms and AI prompts. The reading-time estimator gives you a useful sense of how long an article, announcement or document may take to read, while the word frequency counter highlights repeated language and the terms that dominate a draft.

These tools are intentionally immediate. There is no upload step and no analysis queue. As you edit the text, the result updates with it. That makes them useful not only for a final check, but also as a lightweight companion while you write.

Clean, arrange and reshape text

Text often arrives in the wrong form. It may contain extra spaces, empty rows, repeated items, unwanted line breaks or numbering copied from another source. Our clean-up tools remove those obstacles without asking you to rebuild the content by hand. You can remove spaces or line breaks, strip HTML tags, find and replace a phrase, add or remove line numbers and remove empty or duplicate lines.

For lists, there are tools to sort alphabetically or numerically, reverse the order, shuffle items or sort them by length. These are small operations, but they come up often when working with notes, spreadsheets, inventories, research, test data and content systems. A focused utility reduces the chance of an accidental edit and turns a repetitive task into a predictable one.

Case converters cover another common family of jobs. Text can be changed to upper case, lower case, title case, camel case, Pascal case, snake case or kebab case. That is useful for everyone from writers polishing headings to developers preparing identifiers and URLs. Other text tools reverse text, create superscript characters and generate clean slugs for pages and posts.

Work with web data and technical formats

A number of tools are made for the small transformations that appear in web and software work. URL encoders and decoders handle characters safely, while the URL parser separates an address into its useful parts. The URL builder and Google Analytics campaign builder help assemble links more carefully. HTML entity tools encode and decode special characters, and the JSON formatter turns compressed or uneven data into something easier to inspect.

Base64 encoding and decoding, hash generation, number-base conversion and JWT decoding are available for quick development and debugging tasks. These utilities are not intended to hide what they do behind a mysterious process. Inputs and outputs remain visible, and the tool stays focused on the transformation. When you need a value for testing or a project, you can also generate UUIDs, random numbers and passwords, preview icon characters or create placeholder text with the lorem ipsum generator.

Private by default

The text and values you enter into our tools are processed locally in your browser. They are not sent to a toools.app server for processing. This is both a privacy choice and a product choice: local processing is fast, keeps the interaction responsive and means your work does not need to leave your device just to complete a straightforward transformation.

You should still use appropriate judgement with sensitive information on any website, and our privacy policy explains the site’s operation in more detail. But the guiding principle is simple: a text utility does not need to know who you are. There are no user accounts, no documents to manage and no cloud workspace holding the content you paste into a tool.

Fast, accessible and useful anywhere

A utility is only useful when it gets out of the way. We keep the site lightweight so pages load quickly and results can be produced instantly. The layouts adapt to phones, tablets and larger screens, making it practical to fix a list from a mobile device or work through a longer draft at a desk. Keyboard access, clear labels, readable contrast and semantic page structure are treated as core parts of the experience rather than optional extras.

Consistency matters too. The same visual language, spacing and interaction patterns are used across the collection. That reduces friction when moving between related tasks. For example, you can clean a list, sort it, change its case and count the result without having to relearn the interface at every step.

A collection that grows carefully

We add tools when they solve a clear, repeatable problem. The goal is not to build the longest possible directory of utilities or bundle unrelated features into complicated products. A new tool should have a single understandable purpose, produce a dependable result and feel at home beside the rest of the collection. Existing tools are refined as browsers, devices and the ways people work continue to change.

That approach keeps toools.app practical. It can serve a student checking an assignment, a writer preparing an article, a marketer building a campaign link, a developer inspecting encoded data or anyone cleaning up a block of text. Different people arrive with different tasks, but they should all be able to understand the tool in front of them and finish the job with confidence.

Built for the moment you need it

Most visits begin with a simple need: “I need to change this text.” We want the answer to be equally simple. Choose the relevant tool, enter your content and use the result. There is no onboarding sequence, subscription decision or unnecessary configuration between the problem and the solution.

toools.app is our attempt to make the useful corners of the web feel useful again: direct, calm, quick and respectful of the person doing the work. We hope the collection saves you a little time, removes a little friction and gives you a reliable place to return whenever one of these small tasks appears.
